Conventional offices – will they suit me?
It’s impossible to say that one type of office space is right and one is wrong. The key thing is to find the right type of office rental that will suit the needs of your company.
For those organisations that are likely to stay in one place for a long time, and who are very conscious of their running costs, going for a conventional or “unserviced” office space might be the best bet.
Unserviced offices (unlike their serviced brethren) don’t include all the extras like telecommunications and infrastructure. It tends to be just an empty space which you can fill as you wish with everything you need to get running.
Though it’s undoubtedly more time-intensive initially, there are lots of benefits to this type of office space:
- it’s cheaper – finding your own bits and bobs lets you shop around for the best deals
- you can often decorate and furnish your office to suit your own style, without having to rely on the existing setup
- your long-term running costs will often be a lot lower because you can manage the costs yourself, and pay for only the space you occupy
Whichever option you go for (serviced offices or unserviced office space), shop around and find the best option for you. It’s always worth visiting some of the available offices so you know what you can afford.
